The Youth Policy Document Workshop organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Turkey in all provinces was held on December 25, 2024, at the Salda Girls' Dormitory located in our Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University İstiklal Campus. The workshop was conducted with the active participation of public institutions contributing to youth policies, non-governmental organizations, local administrations, academicians, students, and young people. Within the scope of the program, the problems faced by young people and solutions to these problems were discussed within the framework of 11 main youth policy headings.

Subsequently, comprehensive workshop activities were organized to enable participants to exchange ideas more effectively in line with the determined main headings. These activities allowed participants to develop innovative solutions to problems by examining each policy area in depth. Presentations were made in workshop groups under the headings of Disaster Management and Resilience, Science and Technology, Environment and Climate, Values, Education and Lifelong Learning, Youth Information, Youth and Health, Employment and Entrepreneurship, Participation and Civil Society, Social Inclusion, and International Youth Studies.

The workshop conducted under the heading of Participation and Civil Society was moderated by our Social Work Department faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Deniz SAY ŞAHİN. In the workshop, which took place with the active participation of our Faculty's Social Work Department students, the Aging Studies Community, and the Social Work Community, subheadings such as Youth Participation, Development of Youth NGOs, Volunteering, and University Student Communities were discussed, and the ideas and suggestions of young people were recorded by rapporteurs.
